This course focuses on the role of sales and marketing within an applied setting. It introduces foundational marketing principles and innovative practices to new entrepreneurs before exploring the logistical requirements needed to build and manage a sales force. Students are able to build their "startup sales and marketing tool kit" in order to further grow their business. By the end of the course, you will know how to create and deliver a professional sales pitch and presentation.

This course covers startup fundamentals, and is for students looking to build a scalable business with a need to learn the basic language of finance. In addition to learning the fundamentals of accounting and finance, this course will include the following topics: developing financial plans, setting up an accounting system, incorporating, recruiting, fundraising, and negotiating with investors. You will also learn to understand and construct, balance sheets, income and cash flow statements; do research to find equivalencies; understand the function and value of incorporation; use and create recruitment tools; and understand the ins and outs of fundraising and negotiating.

This course focuses on the essential operations needed to successfully manage an entrepreneurial enterprise. Students will learn to integrate strategy, marketing, human resources, finance and production, in order to maintain a viable business. The course will deepen an understanding of the risks and critical success factors, found in operating entrepreneurial endeavors and will explore the issues faced by budding startups within a real-world context.You will also learn to understand the tools required to be an effective operations manager; explore the role of firm management within an applied setting; research the different funding sources, discuss advantages and disadvantages, and look at available financing options in different phases of an entrepreneurial business operation; and explain the "control chain" mode of operation.

This course focuses on understanding how "intrapreneurship" functions within an organization. Intrapreneurship consists of instilling an entrepreneurial spirit within the employees of an existing organization in order to encourage innovation and business growth.  Relational skills are important to the success of any intrapreneurial endeavor, and will be understood from the perspective of a leader’s need to leverage opportunities within the company, explore innovative approaches and mobilize resources, manage risk, and sustain the enterprise.  Understanding the need for innovation and imagination to sustain a company are essential for continued growth.

This program provides non-technical audiences with an understanding of how data science and data-driven decision-making can impact their lives, careers, and earnings. Learn the vernacular of data scientists and develop an understanding of how machine learning answers important questions, uncovers transformational insights, and even powers self-driving cars. This course demystifies the fields of data science and artificial intelligence so students can understand what different tools and quantitative approaches can accomplish, and how they can help enhance their careers and organizations.

This course provides students with an introduction to the field of cybersecurity. Students begin with an introduction to the fundamental definitions, principles, and concepts of cybersecurity. Topics include: confidentiality, integrity and availability; threat, vulnerability and risk; offensive security and defensive security; security policies; cyber law; network topologies; cryptography; and risk analysis.  In the second part of the course, students will learn from the latest threats, and their defenses by discussing and analyzing examples in the industry. It is crucial for students to understand how cyber-attacks are perpetrated, and the best practices for preventing and responding to them. Students will gain a deeper, technical understanding of cybersecurity, the Internet’s common and emerging vulnerabilities, and techniques for addressing those vulnerabilities.

Change significantly impacts an overall organizational culture, and can have a huge effect on employees. This course discusses the various strategies necessary to be a successful mentor and change management leader. Participants will develop a personal change management action plan which will enhance mentoring and leadership skills. We will examine how to use change as a motivating factor, how to move beyond resistance, and how to create buy-in from your superiors, and from those whom you supervise.

Students will assess a concept or product in the framework of a business opportunity. This includes assessing whether an idea has market appeal (product/market fit), and includes identification of the business ecosystem, stakeholders, customer segment, value proposition and market size. Through customer interviews students will identify customer pain points or problems which will aid in refining their business idea or technology. Students will develop valuable interviewing skills as they prove or disprove hypothesis about their business venture and the value that they bring to the customer. Students will learn first-hand from a group of accomplished entrepreneurs and business professionals as well as directly from their potential customers.

This course provides students with fundamentals of the Internet of Things (IoT), Students begin with the IoT ecosystem concepts and architectures. Topics Covered: IoT definition, SOA-based and API-bases architectures, components, elements (Edge Device, FOG Device, Cloud), IoT enablers and solutions, communication protocols and IoT applications. In the second part of the course, students will learn IoT resource, data management, IoT/Cloud convergence, service lifecycle, validating applications, security and identity management, and future directions.
