Foundation Forward is an initiative for first-year (Foundation) students to explore and review academic programs available at Otis College, before declaring a major for their remaining three years of study. This initiative is composed of the Foundation Forward Nest Course and the Foundation Forward Information Sessions.
The Foundation Forward Nest Course is a self-guided, online experience for students to receive comprehensive information about all majors and minors offered to them. The Nest Course also serves to connect students with campus resources, such as Academic Advising and Career Services.
The Foundation Forward event on Oct. 23rd is an in-person experience to meet with and learn about the majors and minors offered by the respective department chairs and student representatives. Students are encouraged to engage in the Foundation Forward Nest Course and are required to attend the Foundation Forward event in the Forum on Oct. 23rd starting at 9:45am.
The Declaration of Major process in is set for mid-November. Upon declaring their major (and/or minor), students will also complete Spring semester course registration. This ensures a smooth transition into a student's sophomore year when registration and enrollment for their major- and/or minor-related upper-division courses begin.
