Based on the "Xerox Process" first used in a full-length feature film with Disney's 101 Dalmatians (1961). Linework was transferred to the painting block, gouache was added, and then the linework was overlaid again, accounting for misalignment in color. This landscape of the California coastline serves as both a standalone piece and a background for animation. Some images may be cropped. Click on an image to see the full image without cropping.

"Have You Seen Me?" is a comic that addresses the novelty of missing children's ads, childhood perception of fear, and finding closure.

"Ima" is the protagonist of my Senior Project webcomic, FISHGIRL. The story takes place in post-climate change California, and blends a background of environmental destruction with a plot involving conspiracy, mutants, and hope in the undying perseverance of humanity.

"De Vloed" (English, "The Flood") was a comic book that I worked on while on semester exchange at Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. I took it as an opportunity to research historical Hinderlopen and Friesland costume in the Netherlands, and blend fantasy, horror, and the historical prevalence of flooding in Dutch culture.

"Inkantation" was drawn entirely in ink and pencil in daily installments during the month of October. This was part of the yearly "Inktober" drawing challenge, which I spun to produce a comic for. "Inkantation" was Risograph printed and bound on Otis campus.

The design for this print was inspired by the Tubes song, "Sushi Girl". I hand-carved and printed it in the Printmaking Lab on Otis campus. The print is 12 x 12".

Rough thumbnail boards from personal storyboarding project, "Cinnamon Roll Shakedown". Someone ate the last cinnamon roll—but who? One apartment. Two (very amateur) detective-roomates. And a LOT of shenanigans.

Hello! I’m Ashley, a story artist and illustrator based in California. My work centers
around storytelling, whether through comic books, storyboarding, or webcomics.
When I’m not drawing, you could find me baking homemade sourdough, falling off my
mountain bike, or picking up a concerning amount of holds at the local library.
