




Alexis Coleman 2024

Lexi Coleman was born in Lancaster, California. Her practice utilizes both painting
and collage to create small-scale, mixed media works that challenge the social, cultural
and political roles of women in western society. Her artwork examines concepts of
female agency, patriarchy, consumerism, materialism, and female sexuality through
the use of kitsch and pop art imagery. She has exhibited at the Bolsky Gallery, Palos
Verdes Art Center, and GPA Gallery. She is the recipient of the Otis Presidential
Scholarship, the Emerson Woelffer Scholarship, the Richard and Jean Coyne Foundation
Scholarship, and the Z Supply Foundation Scholarship. She currently studies at Otis
College of Art and Design and lives in Los Angeles, California.
