Otis College hosts its Internship Recruitment Day (IRD) annually in the Spring semester. During the event, a diverse selection of industry recruiters from dozens of leading design brands are invited to meet with Junior students. They provide practical feedback on their work, and recruit for job and internship openings for the summer.
IRD takes place on the campus. It is organised by the office of Career Services, much like a speed-interviewing event; company recruiters are set up at assigned tables where they meet students for mini-interviews within fifteen-minute time slots. Students provide copies of their résumés and portfolios of their design work to interviewers. This is an excellent opportunity to hone your interviewing skills and establish lasting connections with potential employers.
The 2020 Internship Fair hosted brands like Monique Lhuillier, NBC Universal, Urban Outfitters, Carter's, St. John, Fambrands, Frame, Halston, Guess?, Banana Republic, and Tapestry among many others.
The 2018 Internship Fair hosted brands like Ralph Lauren, Vince, Pacsun, Mattel, Adidas, Guess?, Tadashi and Urban Outfitters, among many others. 95% of Juniors who actively sought an internship were placed in positions within the fashion industry.
