The Scholarship

The Otis Korea to L.A. Scholarship offers one exceptional South Korean national the opportunity to pursue a four-year undergraduate degree at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, California.

Tuition scholarship valued at $40,000 per year or $160,000 over four years
Awarded to one South Korean national student beginning their studies in fall 2025
Recipient will be guaranteed placement in Otis housing for their first and second year at Otis. Housing fees are still required.

Eligibility Requirements

Must be a South Korean national
Strong creative portfolio
First-time undergraduate student or transfer student
Meets English Proficiency requirements for BFA program or Summer Language Program

How to Apply

1. Submit your online application to Otis College by February 28, 2025 including all required materials (application is free to submit online)
2. Access to the scholarship application will be provided by email after you begin the online application to Otis and indicate that you have South Korean citizenship. Students already accepted will receive their invitation via email.
3. Complete the scholarship application form by February 28, 2025, including a 500-800 word essay or 2-3 minute video response to the following prompt:
  
  "How do you envision using your art/design practice to bridge Korean and American creative cultures? Discuss specific artistic traditions, movements, or cultural elements from both countries that inspire you."

Note: Students who enroll must be able to demonstrate sufficient liquid assets to receive their F-1 student visa. The estimated amount required to substantiate is the Cost of Attendance for one year less the $40,000 scholarship.
