Katherine Kesey (b. 1996, Lubbock TX) is an oil painter, mixed media artist, and writer
based in LA. She holds a degree in Graphic Communications from Clemson University
in South Carolina and has studied at the American University of Paris. She holds a
Master's of Fine Art from Otis College of Art and Design. Katherine's work is in conversation
with philosophy, phenomenology, and the science of meaning, all of which is reflected
in her work as she compiles ordinary objects and scenes into collage-like compositions.
She often incorporates her own photo references, but with ample manipulation of color,
scale, detail, and perspective. By directing where and how each element appears, Katherine
exercises her power as narrator, creating fragmented scenes which walk the line between
reality and non-reality.
