My thesis show is entitled DIVINE HAG.
I’m interested in what it is to inhabit a woman’s body moving through spaces, time,
and histories. That’s what my work is about. It’s at once contemporary and ancient.
My energetic paintings inhabit a liminal space between abstraction and figuration;
the abstracted figures appear to be in flux, often overlapping, with expressive lines
and brushstrokes conveying a sense of movement and urgency. Layers of translucent
paint bloom on the surface, allowing the viewer into an internal, bodily world. Warm
colors, contrast, organic shapes, rough textures and varied line weight characterize
the work.
