Angel Barris' work shows herself being portrayed in varieties of self-portraits painted in a realistic and nonrealistic way. Angel has developed visual perspectives of portraiture based on her personality and childhood that describes herself as an artist. Her portraits include a sense of emotion and clothing of how she feels while wearing her clothes based on her appearance and expression. Each of her portraits features the aspects of using varieties of colors for the skin tone, the contrast between light and dark, and the colors and texture within the artist’s clothes that are constructed in a manner of figurative positions and gestures painted on canvas with acrylic paint, oil paint, and mixed mediums. Most recently, she has used other materials in her work besides acrylic and oil which are often in some of her work to have the chance of exploring and working with something different.
