Course Selection and Registration Resources

We encourage you to fully explore this online course catalog. You'll find classes that will challenge and inspire you. All courses offered in the upcoming semester will be published in the online catalog approximately one month before course registration.

Finding Out Your Major Requirements

Degree requirements by major and minor for each semester of study are listed in this course catalog, on the department page. You will see a tab for each level: sophomore, junior, senior. The course requirements for your level lists the requirements you must complete to earn your degree.

Degree Works tracks your individual degree progress. Each semester, when you prepare to register for classes, you should check your Degree Works audit (accessible through MyOtis) to be certain of the requirements you have left to complete.

Training materials to learn how to read your Degree Works audit are available on MyOtis.

Plan-Ahead

Plan-Ahead is a tool within the self-service registration application where you can plan your schedule in advance of registering. For more information on how to use Plan Ahead, see the training materials provided in MyOtis.

Advising

Advising Presentations

Students are required to attend the major, LAS/CAIL and minors advising presentations each semester to review degree requirements and for an overview of courses, including electives.

Students who transferred into the college or who are behind on requirements or credits must attend the Degree Works presentations offered by Academic Advising. In addition, all students are encouraged to attend these presentations.

Dates for all presentations will be posted in MyOtis.

Major/Minor Advising

If you have questions about specific courses in your major or minor, studio advisors and minor area heads are available and are listed on the major or minors page within this online catalog.

One-on-one Academic Advising

Academic Advising is available for help reading your Degree Works audit, determining which courses you need to take to stay on track to complete your degree on time, and with planning your schedule in Plan Ahead.
