Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Programs at Otis College
Otis College has recently developed a few marquee programs that focus on our commitment to diversity and inclusion. These programs are student-centered, and are aimed at developing a stronger sense of belonging, while also empowering the next generation of artists and designers. Both the Black Creatives Institute and our BIPOC Student Summit were created in 2020 and 2021, respectively. We invite you to read more about these programs below:
Otis College’s Black Creatives Institute is focused on developing an inclusive and affirming campus climate for incoming Black-identified students in an effort to increase student engagement, first- to second-year retention, and degree completion.
BIPOC Student Summit is committed to creating a community space for Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) to connect around shared or similar identities, while addressing the realities of being a person of color within the creative industry.
DEI Staff Education and Engagement
The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion works with Human Resources and Development to provide staff development opportunities specific to DEI content, in order to help staff grow in their knowledge, awareness, and skill around DEI education and engagement. JEDI Innovation Fund offers a way for student organizations, staff, and faculty to create and develop innovative and grassroots efforts to support our college-wide commitment to DEI through various programs and initiatives.
