The Art of Justice: MLK Day of Service and Expression at Otis College is a comprehensive day-long event that combines community service, artistic expression, and education to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy.
It is an opportunity for Otis students, faculty, staff, and alumnx to serve the community by hosting K-12 students from local schools and youth organizations on campus for a day of art and education.

More than one hundred K-12 students are participating from Arts for Healing and Justice Network, Crete Academy, ArtworxLA, Lawndale High School, and more...
Workshops include:
- Mural Creation (Open to grades 9-12)
- Portraits of Change (drawing, painting, or coloring historical figures - Open to grades K-12)
- Creative Storytelling through Art (creating visual stories or comic strips - Open to grades 4-12)
- Designing Posters for Social Change (Open to grades 4-12)
- Peace and Justice Banner Making (Open to grades K-12)

K-12 students participating in this event will receive breakfast and lunch, explore Otis’ campus in West Los Angeles, and learn alongside peers and role models. By blending art, education, and community engagement, this MLK Day of Service exemplifies the spirit of Dr. King's vision while fostering creativity and social awareness in participants of all ages.
- For youth organizations and schools bringing students to this event, all waivers must be submitted to Otis College of Art and Design by January 10, 2025.
