Bio/Affiliation: 

Riah Buchanan has been a part-time faculty member at Otis for over 10 years, teaching BFA and MFA Graphic Design students in both studio and theory seminars, and brings extensive teaching experience in UX/UI, experimentational media and technology, and branding to the departments. She holds an MFA in 2D Design from Cranbrook Academy of Art and is pursuing a PhD from the Center of Digital Art and Experimental Media at the University of Washington. Her previous experience includes working at the American Civil Liberties Union and Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and she has shown at George Mason University, A+D Museum, Eyebeam, and more. She is currently researching the dissemination of government images and documents through the lens of speculative design. She is also on the editorial board of Media-N: Journal of the New Media Caucus and has written for Eros and Kulturfolger magazines.
