Bio/Affiliation
Mitra Rajabi is an Assistant Chair and Associate Professor of Fashion Design at Otis College of Art and Design, with over 26 years of teaching experience and more than a decade of professional work in the fashion industry. A multilingual educator, she has led fashion-focused Travel Studies programs in Paris, London, and New York City, enriching students’ global perspective. She specializes in sustainable design, with an emphasis on zero-waste garment construction, upcycling, and multifunctional design solutions.
Ms. Rajabi is the recipient of the Otis/Parsons Designer of the Year Award and the Mizuno Grand Prize Award in Tokyo. In her leadership role, she advises students, oversees course scheduling, supports career placement, and mentors students through competitions and industry opportunities. In addition to her academic work, she is also a personal/life coach, guiding individuals toward achieving personal and professional growth.
