Bio and Affiliation
Mario Cutajar is an artist and writer.
His writing about art has appeared in Artscene, Art + Text, LA Weekly, Artweek, Visions, and other publications.
He has contributed essays to the catalogs of several exhibitions, the latest to the 2024 retrospective of Marc Leuthold's work at Shiwan Ceramic Museum in Guangdong, China.
He has published nine artist books.
He is the past recipient of an NEA Fellowship (Painting), a fellowship at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, and a Pollock-Krasner grant. His current area of interest is the relationship between art and the sacred.
