Bio/Affiliation: 

Lara Hoad is an Architect, Designer and Educator.  She is principal of LARA HOAD ARCHITECTURE DESIGN a female forward, collaborative architecture and design practice based in Los Angeles, California, focused on community, sustainability and social change, overlaid with a rich layer of Californian contemporary culture. A licensed Architect in the State of California, and a LEED Accredited Professional, Lara was educated in her home city of London and has a BA (Hons) in Interior Design from Middlesex University and an MA in Architecture from the Royal College of Art. Lara holds teaching positions at prominent Los Angeles schools - Otis College of Art and Design and Woodbury School of Architecture and was previously in the role of Design Director at Santa Monica architecture practice March Studio.  Lara is a long-time environmental activist, a Climate Reality Leader, and crew member and ambassador for eXXpedition, the all-female sailing voyages exploring the impact of toxins and plastic pollution in our oceans.  Lara also owns the Joshua Tree desert retreat The Ocotillo, a place for creative communities to cultivate their imaginations while immersed in nature.
