Bio and Affiliation
Jean-Marie Venturini is the Senior Director of Learning Centers at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, where her unwavering passion for fostering inclusive and dynamic learning environments drives her work every day. Since 2012, her work in Instructional Design and Technology, explores innovative strategies to engage and support a diverse student body. She earned her M.S. in Instructional Design & Technology from CSU Fullerton (2016) and holds an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Otis College (2006), along with a B.F.A. in Classics and Classical Civilizations from Loyola Marymount University (2004). Her teaching experience spans over 15 years at Otis College, where she has been committed to empowering students through a variety of engaging courses. She primarily teaches English, Rhetoric, and Composition courses in a HyFlex modality, enabling students to choose their preferred learning experiences. Her Liberal Studies Electives, such as Time Travel Storytelling and Elocution: The Art of Effective Speechmaking, reflect her belief in the importance of creativity and critical thinking in education. A frequent presenter at national conferences, she has led major institutional initiatives in instructional technology, HyFlex teaching, inclusive curriculum design, and academic support services. Her commitment to fostering inclusive, student-centered learning has earned her numerous teaching excellence nominations and the respect of colleagues across disciplines. She is passionate about celebrating the unique perspectives of all her students and is dedicated to creating an environment where everyone feels valued and inspired to reach their full potential.
