Bio and Affiliation
Janis Ahn is a graphic designer and creative director who teaches the Systems and
Identities class in the BFA program. Her experience focuses in the branding space,
dabbling in the intersection of marketing and graphic design in various fast growing
start-ups. She also brings a background in print and institutional design, including
previous work for the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles and SCI-Arc. She holds
a BFA in Communication Arts, Graphic Design from Otis College of Art and Design. She's
driven by a broader commitment to contributing to a world that values and uplifts
meaningful design. Since 2025, Janis opened up Junia Café in Gardena, CA with her
husband, where she merges her love of hospitality, design, and coffee.
