Bio/Affiliation:

Hannah Kim Varamini is an interdisciplinary artist working primarily in drawing and installation. Through a process that incorporates archival research and material investigation, her work addresses ideas around historical memory and cultural hybridity impacted by colonialism, nationalism, and mythologies. She spent time in Namibia on a Fulbright Fellowship, which propelled an ongoing interest in postcolonial discourse. She has presented work in various contexts including the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, Santa Cruz Museum of Art, ArtCenter College of Design DTLA, the Phillips Collection, and the National Art Gallery of Namibia. She also maintains a collaborative practice through the artist-run initiative Love's Remedies. She received her BFA from Cornell University, and MFA from California Institute of the Arts.
