Otis College of Art and Design To Honor Stylist and Creative Director Jason Bolden at 2023 Otis Atelier
The Fundraiser Showcases Fashion Design Student Work, Benefits Scholarships for First-Generation Students
Otis College of Art and Design announced today that it will honor celebrated fashion stylist and creative director Jason Bolden during its annual Otis Atelier fundraiser on Saturday, May 6, 5:30 p.m. All proceeds from the ticketed fundraiser directly support scholarships for first generation students.
Jason Bolden, is the co-founder of JSN Studio, a multidisciplinary design and styling firm based in Los Angeles. His approach to fashion is rooted in pushing boundaries, redefining staples, and collaborating with top talent to create iconic red-carpet, editorial, and advertising moments. Bolden’s unique perspective and talents are showcased in his Netflix series, Styling Hollywood, and as a judge on Next in Fashion. In 2021, Otis College partnered with Bolden to launch Summer of Style, a six-day program that introduced high school students of color to the worlds of fashion, product, and interior design in an effort to widen the pipeline to these creative industries for underrepresented youth.

We’re proud to recognize him during an event that directly supports scholarships for first-generation students attending Otis College and pursuing careers in fashion and other creative fields.”
Held at a private residence in Bel-Air, the event includes a fashion show featuring select work by Otis fashion design seniors created under the direction of renowned professional mentors. This year’s Atelier will also feature a performance by internationally renowned erhu virtuoso Karen Han during the reception. The event is hosted by Deanie and Jay Stein and will be emceed by swimwear designer and creative director Rod Beattie ‘86. In addition to showcasing student work, Otis Atelier honors figures who have made significant contributions to the field of fashion and whose work aligns with the mission of the College.
Created to highlight student work while funding scholarships for first-generation students, Otis Atelier is organized by Otis College with benefit committee members including Beattie, Leo Chu, Qing Duncan, Berry Stein, Mandy Einstein, Leonardo Lawson, Jennifer McCormick, and Patti Röckenwagner.
This year’s presentation showcases select looks from the Fashion Design department's 2023 student collection, Artistic License. Fashion design mentors include Amy Enuke for Guess; Rhonda Summer for Under Armour; Zihaad Wells, Xena Aziminia, and Chris Lester for True Religion; Jonathan Simkhai; Hanna Jun, David Lomeli, Marc Mejia, and Timothy McGrath for Blizzard Entertainment: Diablo; Leonardo Lawson and Jonathan Kirby for Gap x Balenciaga; Marcus Clayton; Mark Virgil F.M. for Ralph Lauren; and Timothy McGrath and Louise Mingenbach for Activision Blizzard: Call of Duty Infinite Warfare.
