Roberta Smith Visiting Critic in FIne Arts

New York TImes art critic Roberta Smith will act as Visiting Critic in Fine Arts for fall 2013. She will deliver a lecture open to the public on Nov. 5 at 7:30, at Moss Auditorium, New Roads School, 3131 Olympic Blvd, Santa Monica.

Fine Arts, Graduate Fine Arts, Santa Monica College Art Department, and the Santa Monica Associates present “ART CRITICISM IN THE EXPANDED FIELD,” a lecture by Roberta Smith, Fall 2013 Visiting Critic in FIne Arts. Smith, senior art critic at the New York TImes since 1986, will speak on  the ways criticism has changed due to the effects of the internet, blogging and tweeting on writing "print" criticism for a daily newspaper, as well as the expansion of the art world itself and the kinds of art being made.
