Joseph Osae-Addo to Deliver Donghia Designer-in-Residence Lecture at Otis College

Otis College of Art and Design’s Environmental Design Department will present the 2022-2023 Donghia Designer-in-Residence Lecture featuring architect Joseph Osae-Addo on Thursday, March 16, 2023. A 6:30 p.m. reception will precede the lecture and Q&A, scheduled 7:30–8:45 p.m.

This lecture and preceding reception will be presented in the Forum on Otis College’s Elaine and Bram Goldsmith Campus at 9045 Lincoln Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90045, as well as virtually via Zoom. The lecture and parking are open and free to the public! On-campus attendance is limited to 100 attendees. Zoom attendance is unlimited.

Otis College Environmental Design Program Announces Al Borde as 2021-2022 Donghia Designer-in-Residence 

The Environmental Design department at Otis College of Art and Design is pleased to announce the Ecuadorian architecture firm, Al Borde, as the 2021-2022 Donghia Designer-in-Residence. Marialuisa Borja will represent the Al Borde collective in a presentation of a public lecture on March 17, 2022, which will take place on Otis’s Goldsmith campus in Los Angeles for the Otis Community, as well as virtually via Zoom for the general public.

Geeta Mehta, Otis College’s 2019-2020 Donghia Designer-in-Residence, on the Social Purpose of Architecture and Urban Design

Geeta Mehta, who is an adjunct professor of architecture and urban design at Columbia University, also is an author, social entrepreneur, and urban designer. She answered several questions before her March 11 lecture at MOCA and master class at Otis College as part of two components of the Architecture/Landscape/Interiors Department’s 2019-2020 Donghia Designer-in-Residency

Kunlé Adeyemi Announced as 2018-2019 Donghia Designer-in-Residence

The Architecture / Landscape / Interiors Department at Otis College of Art and Design is pleased to announce the selection of architect, designer, and urban researcher, Kunlé Adeyemi as the 2018-2019 Donghia Designer-in-Residence. Adeyemi will present a public lecture on March 13, 2019, at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, and direct a one-week Master Class at Otis College of Art and Design between March 14 and 19, 2019.

James Shen Returns to Los Angeles as Otis College’s 2018 Donghia Designer-in-Residence

Creative endeavors can start locally to change the world. That’s one of the messages students can take with them from James Shen, Otis College’s 2018 Donghia Designer-in-Residence. Shen was born and raised in Los Angeles, but his vision for culturally-connective design has taken him to Beijing, China, where he runs People’s Architecture Office.
