She paints her subjects with severe, exaggerated features and emaciated limbs that sometimes morph into abstraction, recalling the works of Pablo Picasso. “Some people ask if I hate the models I paint,” she says. “I say no, I don't hate them.

2014 Design Week Highlights

Graduate Graphic Design Chair Kali Nikitas invited an all-star cast of designers from Europe and the U.S. for Design Week, which kicked off the summer semester of Otis' MFA program in June. Among those who worked with the students were Ines Cox and Lauren Grusenmeyer from Antwerp; Adam Michaels from Project Projects, N.Y.; Donald Beekman and Liza Enebeis from Typeradio, The Hague, Helskinki, Amsterdam; Richard Niessen from Niessen en de Vries, Amsterdam; Menno Cruijsen and Cecelia Martin from Lava, Amsterdam; and Felix Pfäffli from Feixen, Switzerland.
