Bolsky Shows: Chromophobia

From Tuesday, November 22 through Friday, December 9, the Bolsky Gallery will present an exhibition of paintings, sculptures, and experiences that will ignite a corrupting fear of color into its viewers, while in parallel presenting bouts of peace in places that lack color. There is no rest for the sexy. Sexy being the color, sexy being the lack of color, sexy being the overwhelming fear of how color influences us day to day, sexy being how calm nothingness is, sexy being the artists, and sexy being the viewer.

Reception for Roy Dowell: Found in Translation

Many artists do not like to reveal the stages and transformations during the making of their work. Roy Dowell’s exhibition, on the contrary, highlights the sources, collaborations and behind-the-scenes translations that were a part of the making of his large billboard, initially meant to be seen from a great distance and speed. Thus, he invites the public to compare, evaluate and enjoy the process from private to public and back to private, as the now-aged billboard is seen from close up in the gallery.
