Meticulosity opens at Ben Maltz Gallery

04/28/12

A reception for the eleven artists in Meticulosity at the Ben Maltz Gallery takes place on Saturday, April 28, 4-6 pm. The show, which LA TImes art critic Leah Ollman described as a "meeting of the mind and spirit," inlcudes work that the curators (Director Meg Linton and John David O'Brien) connect to "a sense of the ineffable or that which is beyond words, and to the meaning of beauty." All Southern Calfornia-based, the artists create painting, digital collage, stone sculpture, altered textiles, installation, photography and video. Among them are faculty member Linda Hudson and alumnus Sandeep Mukherjee ('96). Others are Tanya Batura, Hilary Brace, Eileen Cowin, Gegam Kacherian, Ross Rudel, Linda Stark, Arthur Taussig, Elizabeth Turk, and Samira Yamin. Also included are poets Guy Bennett, Dennis Phillips, and Martha Ronk, all Graduate Writing faculty members. Through July 7.
