The Art Newspaper (www.theartnewspaper.com) reports that Ruben Ochoa ('97) sold a monumental sculpture to Elton John. Ochoa is in Venice, Italy, participating in an exhibition of shortlisted artists for the Future Generation Art Prize (worth $100,000). The name of the work: Twenty-Seven Hundred And Eighty-Five Kilos Of Displacement Plus Metal Plate. Elton John plans to have the sculpture installed in his garden outside of London. Stateside, Ochoa is in an exhibition at the San Jose Museum of Art (www.sjmusart.org).
