Roy Dowell, founder and chair of the graduate program in fine arts, was selected for "critic's pick" in the May issue of Art News. Correspondent Hunter Drohojowska describes Dowell's collage technique and sources, which range from Mexican retablos to prints by Corita Kent. Work by 20 of Dowell's students is on display at the Ben Maltz Gallery in the exhibition "The Story of O," through June 5.
