Who are those mannequins?

In Santa Monica, visitors have sighted groups of mannequins in unlikely places. Santa Monica Place, which will reopen on August 6, has launched a promotional campaign for "The Mannequin Collective," a project in which 100 local designers, artists, and retailers will create art and fashion for 100 blank mannequins. The Macerich company has selected Otis as its charitable partner, and Otis will display the top five mannequins, both at 9045 Lincoln Blvd and at Otis' fashion design location at the California Market Center.
