  • For decades, the Los Angeles–based artist Lita Albuquerque has blurred distinctions between Land art and Light and Space on increasingly grander scales, whether it be building installations surrounding the pyramids in Egypt or placing sculptures across Antarctica to mirror the formation of the stars. Her cosmic explorations continue with two new bodies of work that are currently being shown at Kohn Gallery in Hollywood, from January 9 through February 27, 2016, and at USC’s Fisher Museum of Art, from January 26 through April 10, 2016.

Michele Jaquis: 2010-11 Faculty Development Grant Report

Excerpt:

In Spring 2011 I received my first Faculty Development Grant from Otis, which has allowed me to upgrade my video equipment in order to produce several ongoing and new video projects.

I am extremely grateful for this Faculty Development Grant, which will allow me to increase my productivity and the visual quality of my artwork by giving me un-interrupted access to professional high definition video equipment. Once more work has been made with this equipment I will share it with the Otis Community through an updated grant report and my Vimeo channel.
