The Student Government Association (SGA) is a formalized structure that refects student needs, concerns and issues. All enrolled students are considered members of the SGA, and all students enrolled in degree programs are eligible to hold positions in the SGA upon meeting minimum requirements.
The SGA consists of four elected postions: The Lead Govenor, Governor for Student Outreach, Governor for Academic Life and Governor for Campus Life. Elections are held in April each year; all Otis students qualifying may run for any position.
The SGA has the opportunity to meet with the Director of Student Activities, and Otis faculty and administration on a regular basis. Officers and representatives are asked to provide feedback on institutional issues to voice the concerns and perspectives of the student body. The group also suggests activities and events to the Campus Activities Board and, maintains regular communication with students, representing the student body on task forces, and work groups and at offcial College functions.
Contact an SGA member by way of the Office of Student Activities at 310-846-2595 or email studentactivities@otis.edu.
