Study Abroad China Bamboo 

Description
The Design Challenge in Ningbo, China will prepare Otis students to work in the bamboo forest of Ningbo, China to create innovative and sustainable designs. Students will learn about bamboo in an integrated context. Industrial: growing, harvesting, processing, physical properties, and sustainable attributes. Design: develop a toy that is in compliance with regulatory product safety laws, and, of  course, "fun". Practicum: students will attend a "Bamboo Workshop" near Ningbo, China. Each student will design, fabricate and finish a toy made of bamboo. Students who choose to enroll must be committed to stretching their goals, diving deep and promising to make a difference.
