Otis' celebrated alumni of professional artists and designers, innovators and leaders have made outstanding contributions to art and design for almost nine decades. They demonstrate the spirit of experimentation that Otis has imbued in its students since its inception in 1918. In today's innovation-driven economy, in which careers are flexible, adaptable paths into the unknown rather than strictly mapped routes, Otis alumni grasp the big picture, find inventive solutions to complex problems, and express their own voices through various media. Some work in disciplines related to their area of study, expanding the boundaries of their creative practice; others leap imaginatively across vocational borders. From museum and exhibition design to the Hollywood screen, from the clothes we wear to the toys with which our children play, alumni shape the world. Otis graduates span the globe, pursuing unprecedented opportunities in our increasingly multicultural society.
