    Todd Gray was born in 1954 in Los Angeles. Gray received an MFA and a BFA from California Institute of the Arts and is currently a professor at California State University, Long Beach. He has shown performance work at REDCAT (Roy and Edna Disney CalArts Theater), Los Angeles (2010); California African American Museum, Los Angeles (2009); the Commons, New York University (2008); 18th Street Arts Center, Santa Monica (2008); New Renaissance Theater, Syracuse, NY (2007); and Academy of Media Arts, Cologne (2004).

    Bob Nickas is a critic and independent curator based in New York, having organized more than ninety exhibitions since 1984.
    He was Curatorial Advisor at P.S.1/MoMA in New York between 2004-07, where his exhibitions include: 
    Lee Lozano: Drawn From Life; 
    William Gedney—Christopher Wool: Into the Night; 
    Stephen Shore: American Surfaces; 
    Wolfgang Tillmans: Freedom From The Known. 

  • Looking at the recent works of Sebastian Stumpf one finds an interplay between performance and the recording of performance, between the execution of a physical act and the documentation of it by means of a camera. [He] operates in two distinct realms: in the empty spaces of contemporary art institutions and in urban settings with their preexisting orders. […] An inconspicuous architectural detail suddenly becomes the catalyst for a physical exploit…. The art gallery becomes a space for action.

Alum SABINE DEHNEL'03 showed her work with Gallerie Esther Woerdehoff in the context of Paris Photo from the 19th to the 22 of November 2009 and had a solo show @ IMPULSE Miami though 2X2 Projects from December 3 - 6, 2009.

Alum ERIC MEDINE '06 was the curator of "Impossible Bottles" at Project Room G3 in San Pedro from December 12th, 2009 - January 2nd, 2010. The group exhibition includes the work of alum MICHAEL BRUNSWICK. MEDINE also showed his video installation "Culturally Biased Data Sets" for the "Let There Be Light" group exhibition organized by Phantom Gallery in Long Beach from December 5th to January 7, 2010.

Graduate Fine Arts professor ANNETTA KAPON'S video will be part of "SFC - SHOAH Film Collection" which will be released in Germany on occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Liberation of the Concentration Camp of Auschwitz on January 27 2010.

Graduate Fine Arts professor CAROLE CAROOMPAS was in "Additive," a group show of USC alumni at the Roski MFA gallery at USC from December 3-16, 2009

Graduate senior lecturers JOHN KNIGHT and KORI NEWKIRK are two of 23 artists that were commissioned to create large scale billboards throughout Los Angeles from February 5 through March 26, 2010. "How Many Billboards? Art in Stead " is organized by the MAK Center for Art and Architecture's Director Kimberli Meyer with co-curators Lisa Henry, alum DR. NIZAN SHAKED '00, Dr. Gloria Sutton, and public art consultant Sara Daleiden. The exhibition will be accompanied by an overview exhibit and orientation station at the Schindler House, which opens on February 23, as well as a series of public programs and bus tours.
