Bio/Affiliation:

Alina Parson was born and raised in the former USSR. She graduated from the Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages and Literature, in Uzbekistan. She moved to the United States in 1991 and began working in the fashion industry, first as a sewer for a sewing contractor, then as a manager. Ms. Parson began teaching in 2000 while continuing her professional practice in the industry as a designer, pattern maker, and fashion consultant, working in couture, moderate, junior men and girls, lingerie, and kids’ markets. She realized her strong passion for teaching and became a full-time professor at Otis College of Art and Design. In 2010, she received her Master’s degree from Woodbury University. Ms. Parson loves her students and devotes countless hours in class to them, earning her the “Outstanding Instructor” award in 2005, and the 2010 “Apple Award.” Her slogan “If you do it, do it the best” has been an inspiration to her students, as have her invaluable skills in finding individualized ways to help them meet and exceed expectations.
