Design Lab is the only design studio in Los Angeles that functions as a collaboration between students, staff, faculty, and external clients. Student designers gain valuable career experience, and our clients connect with emerging talent to meet their creative needs.

Upcycled Tote BagDesign Lab was tasked to develop new merchandise for Otis College with a focus on sustainability and the connections between student-created work and the Otis community. Project Team

Fabletics CaresDesign Lab was hired to create a logo for Fabletics Cares, the philanthropic arm of Fabletics. Incorporating the iconic Fabletics “F,” the logo needed to visually express the company’s contributions to the health and wellness of underrepresented communities. Project Team

Huntington Retail LineThe Huntington hired Design Lab to design sustainably-produced, branded items that reflect the entirety of The Huntington experience—the gardens, the collections, and the architecture. Biking While BlackOtis Design Lab was asked to (co)create key art for a new documentary film about mobility justice in Los Angeles. Yolanda Davis-Overstreet, the film’s director and an Otis alum, expressed that the artwork should evoke both the oppression of Black lives and the triumph of Black joy, achieved by persevering in the face of injustice. LAist Gala IdentityDesign Lab was hired by LAist to create the look and feel for their annual gala. They encouraged us to celebrate the city and its residents with bold colors and elegant typography. Project Team

JANM GalaDesign Lab was hired to create an elegant and uplifting identity for the Japanese American National Museum’s annual Benefit Gala. As the institution’s sole fundraising event of the year, this Gala is an important touchpoint for both the museum and the surrounding community. The design is intended to promote the future of the museum while celebrating Japanese-American history and culture. Project Team
