Introduction to Silversmithing


This 10-week course explores the basic techniques of creating fine silver or gold jewelry by hand. Students learn time-tested methods of drilling, sawing, filing, grinding, soldering, and finishing. Course examines stone setting using bezel, prong, and channel settings. Also covers basic jewelry repair. Projects may include a ring, pendant, pin, or earrings. Estimated cost of materials: $250.
