Laurie Horowitz began her career as a lawyer in suburban Boston. In 1993, she went to work at Creative Artists Agency in Beverly Hills, CA, where she represented the film and television rights to literary properties. As an agent, she spoke on writing for screen and making your book into a movie at The Learning Annex, the Maui Writer’s Conference, and the San Diego Writer’s Conference. Her short fiction has appeared in Playgirl Magazine and Fiction. Her novel, THE FAMILY FORTUNE was by published by William Morrow/HarperCollins in May of 2006. The film rights were optioned to International Entertainment Group for Meg Ryan to star. Horowitz’s screenplay ABDUCTED was made for Lifetime Television and first aired in the spring of 2007. She is currently working on her second novel and runs a business called INKLINGS LIT through which she teaches and provides editorial services. She is experienced in editing, revising, and rewriting screenplays, fiction, and nonfiction. She is a member of the Writer’ Guild America (WGA) and the Writer’s Guild Canada (WGC) and the Massachusetts Bar Association.
