Acrylic Painting Techniques: Ages 13-15

    Acrylic Painting Techniques: Ages 13-15

Explore the art of acrylic painting from constructing, stretching, and priming a canvas to color mixing and brushwork techniques. Create original compositions for your paintings by drawing preliminary sketches or incorporating your own photographs and images as source material. Course also covers glazing, impasto, and heavy texture. Set within the context of fun painting projects, students draw artistic inspiration from art historical references such as hard edge abstraction and California impressionism, spanning 20th century to current art movements.

First class materials: $40 lab fee payable to instructor for supplies and an inexpensive 20” x 26” portfolio for storing paintings.
