Photographing Your Own Fine Art Portfolio

Photographing Your Own Fine Art Portfolio

Students learn different methods for shooting high quality images of their own artwork. Methods include a simple outdoor/shade method, a two-light, indoor set-up, and an exacting, color balanced, reproduction quality approach. The first day includes a lecture and demonstration on photographing two-dimensional flat art (drawings, painting, prints, and photographs). The following week students select a method and shoot five pieces for a final critique. Students receive a hand-out covering step-by-step procedures.

Prerequisite: Working knowledge of a 35mm SLR digital camera.

First class materials: USB Flash Drive
