Photography, the Self, and Slowing Down Time: Ages 9-12

Photography, the Self, and Slowing Down Time: Ages 9-12

This class incorporates drawing, photography, and movement, while exploring image-making in a digital world. Students explore basic photography through the use of both digital and analog cameras, learn composition and contrast, and complete drawing exercises in their sketchbooks. After creating a series of photographs, students produce their own hand-bound artist’s book. Each class uses movement exercises to tap into questions of identity and the body in space and within the picture frame. The course is geared towards students who are beginning to explore their personal identity with a visual eye.

First class materials: $40 lab fee payable to instructor for supplies.
