College Preparation: Black and White Photography

College Preparation: Black and White Photography

A strong portfolio is essential for students planning to pursue a career in photography and art. This hands-on course covers shooting, developing, printing, technical, and conceptual aspects of photography. In this course, students create a portfolio, as well as write and speak clearly about the work, which are essential parts of the portfolio preparation and application process. Students also learn how to prepare for group and solo shows, and how to make a commercial book.

    Prerequisite: None

First Class Materials: Camera, pen and paper or laptop for taking notes, and 3-5 pieces of previous photography artwork. For Beginning students, bring 3-5 examples of photography you admire.

Please note: At the Goldsmith Campus, students check in at the Security Desk on the first day of class.
