Van Woensel is the Fall 2008 Curator-in-Residence, Fine Arts Department.  He is an independent curator, critic, lecturer and musician based in New York.  Among his many projects, Van Woensel curated the 1st Whitehot Magazine Festival in New York, and an exhibition of sound works by Caroline Polacheck, Lee Ranaldo and Guns 'n Roses at the Contemporary Art Museum in St. Louis.  He is working on several projects including an interactive, audiovisual landscape with Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth and Leah Singer, and a solo exhibition of kinetic installation artist Kris Vleeschouwer's work at Zendai MoMA in Shanghai.  He teaches Studio Art at NYU's Department of Art, and in the Department of Curatorial Practice at CCA in San Francisco.
