Liz Glynn, Artist

Liz Glynn employs objects and actions to consider the ambition of empire, the pleasure of ruin, and the possibility of a new way forward. Her practice seeks to embody dynamic cycles of growth and decay by creating works which evidence process, encourage participation, and incite future action. Her work has been exhibited across the United States at venues including at LACMA, MOCA/Los Angeles, Armand Hammer Museum, LACE, Machine Project, Acuna-Hansen Gallery, the REDCAT Lounge, Paula Cooper Gallery, John Connolly Presents, and the New Museum in New York City. Reviews of Glynn’s work have appeared in the Los Angeles Times and Art Lies, among others. She has attended residencies at O'Artoteca in Milan, the Atlantic Center for the Arts, and Vermont Studio Center. Glynn received her MFA from California Institute of the Arts, and her BA from Harvard College. She is the recipient of a Fellowship for Visual Artists from The California Community Foundation.

Erlea Maneros Zabala, Artist

Erlea Maneros Zabala is a mixed media artist, creating wall paintings, drawings and image-based work in which the material processes intersect with museological and news media sources. The artist has exhibited extensively internationally, including at Centro Cultural Montehermoso, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain; Kadist Art Foundation, Paris; Carreras Múgica, Bilbao, Basque Country; Redling Fine Art, Los Angeles; and Seamen's Art Club, Hamburg, Germany. She will have a solo show at the Guggenheim Bilbao in 2013; and is in the collections of the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia and the Glasgow School of Art. Zabala received an MFA from California Institute of the Arts and lives in LA.

Diedrich Diedrichsen, Author and Cultural Critic

Diedrich Diederichsen is a writer whose articles and texts are printed in a variety of periodicals and publications, including Texte zur Kunst, Artforum, and Frieze. Until the 1990s he was the editor-in-chief of the influential subculture magazine Spex. His visit is jointly sponsored by LACMA, Otis College of Art and Design, and Santa Monica College.
