Architecture/Landscape/Interiors (A/L/I) seeks to contribute to the emergence of imaginative contemporary practices through a synthetic curriculum of the spatial design fields: architecture (buildings), landscape (spaces between buildings), and interiors (spaces within buildings).
In their numerous manifestations, these three fields organize and shape the spaces and contexts for all our activities and relations. Students in this multidisciplinary program study all three fields within a single, sequential curriculum.
Strong recognition of the program is reflected in a growing number of Advanced Standing agreements with graduate programs in architecture, which afford A/L/I graduates an accelerated track toward a Master of Architecture I degree. Otis has four such agreements thus far: RICE University, University of Illinois at Chicago, University of Southern California and Woodbury University. More info. (PDF)
Each year, OTIS College of Art and Design's graduating Architecture/Landscape/Interiors (A/L/I) seniors design and build a full-scale spatial environment in their final semester of study. Videos of A/L/I’s Class of 2012, 2010, 2009, 2007, 2005 and 2003 Installations are available on YouTube. Each video shows the complete process of design, fabrication and installation, and is accompanied by a description with the names of graduating seniors who produced the installation.
Students may transfer at sophomore level in spring, as well as fall, semester through Architecture/Landscape/Interiors JUMP-START Program. Students transferring in January 2013 may earn a B.F.A. in May 2015, in just 2-1/2 years of full-time study. More Info (PDF).
